It’s so hard to keep the kids active in the winter, especially when we have cold temperatures and no snow. At least when there is snow on the ground, they are excited to get outside and build a snowman, have a snowball fight,go sledding, or paint the snow. So far this winter, we have not seen any snow and have been stuck inside.
I created this fun indoor winter activity to get them moving and active while stuck inside. This indoor winter activity will have kids moving and giggling in no time as they complete the actions. As an added bonus, it’s a great gross motor activity.

Getting Started
The prep work for this activity is super easy and takes no time at all. Simply download and print this indoor winter activity on 8 1/2×11″ paper. You could laminate it and make it reusable. Kids will love playing this all winter long. You could make it a weekly activity throughout the winter.
How to Play
Play this by reading each action or turn it into a Simon Says game.
Kids start out by pretending they are getting ready to head outside. Then they get to pretend they are playing in the snow (while staying warm and dry). After playing outside, it’s time for hot chocolate. If you have hot chocolate, you have to add marshmallows.
I find it much funnier to pretend we are putting on snow gear. By the time I get three kids dressed in snow pants, boots, coats, hats, and gloves as well as myself, I’m worn out. 🙂 Someone always puts their boots and snow pants on in the wrong order and we have to start over.
