My kindergartner has been asking to make a penguin craft forever. We have a couple different penguin crafts planned and decided to start with this penguin puppet.

This penguin craft is easy, simple, and fun. The end result is a puppet that kids can use in play.

Puppets can stimulate children’s imaginations, encourage creativity, and  initiate communication and narration.

Supplies:

  • Black Paper Bags
  • White, orange, & black card stock or construction paper
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Penguin Puppet Template (printable)

Directions:

This project has just 2 steps making it easy for young kids, who are not able to follow long and complex directions.

  1. Cut out an orange beak, white oval for the body, and eyes using white and black paper (make the white circle larger than the black).
  2. Glue the pieces to the black paper sack, so that the eyes and beak are on the bottom of the sack.

This penguin puppet is an inexpensive craft project that would work great one on one at home or with a group of kids.

Too cute! I’ve yet to make a puppet with my daughter, and I know she’d enjoy it. Pinning this one for after the holidays! 🙂
