Hi, I’m Kim! I am a wife and mother to three precious kids ages 8, 5 & 3. Our home feels like a zoo at times with three rambunctious kids, 2 black lab mix dogs, a bearded dragon lizard and whatever poor creature my oldest has decided to adopt. I love being a mom and feel very blessed that I am able to be at home with my children. I love doing special little things for my kids like decorating their bedroom for their birthday or snuggling in bed with them and reading all their favorite books. We probably don’t always do everything right, but we do what works for us in the moment.
In addition to being a wife and mother, I co-teach the preschool/kindergartenSunday school class at our church and act as roommom for both my sons’ classes. I worked as a medical social worker up until my oldest was almost two. I loved my work and the help I was able to give others. The job often challenged my creativity and resourcefulness as does parenting. Those skills were really put to the test six years ago when we moved from a suburb of Houston to rural Kansas. The closet Babies R Us was two hours away!
So why blog…A little over a year ago our youngest was embarking on her 2nd birthday as I was looking ahead to a big birthday in just two short years. After dealing with pregnancy and nursing for almost a decade (we faced a miscarriage and some infertility prior to being blessed with 3 babies), I decided it was time to rediscover a little me. I rediscovered my love of reading and found a new love-pinterest and blogs. I stalked pinterest and a few fashion blogs and revamped/restocked my wardrobe. I still prefer my yoga pants and t-shirts, but at least a couple times a week I throw aside my yoga pant uniform and get myself dressed and accessorized (even if I am just swapping yoga pants for leggings). Still I yearned for something more, which lead to The Resourceful Mama.
