It’s hard to start thinking about back to school time when we are trying to soak up as much summer as possible, but our kids go back the 13th of August. Travel plans later this month and into early August make it necessary to purchase school supplies now.

I know others have a similar situation, so I wanted to share my back to school supply list.

I printed the back to school supply list from our school district’s website a couple of nights ago. It is the same format as it has been in years past; making it easy for disturbing to the masses. It is divided by grade with a paragraph of the supply requirements under each grade.
I don’t know about you, but that format does not work for me. I need a list…start at the top and work my way down system; checking off as I go.
I put together this back to school supply list to help prepare for my school supply shopping trip. I hope you find it helpful.
Before you head out, check out these money saving tips.
Money saving tips: Before you start shopping for back to school supplies, shop your house. Do you have supplies left from last year that were not used? Do you have supplies that older siblings have used that can be passed down (nap mat)? Do you stock up on items and have them stored (Kleenex)? Does your child have items they can reuse from last year (pencil box)?

I love the school supply list your provided. I like to be able to write things down and check them off. And your tips for shopping your house are perfect. Every year I forget to do that and I buy a whole bunch of notebooks and forget to check the ones from last year…..that are still mostly empty. This year I will do better!
I did that last year and then found a few things after the fact. I shopped the house last night for school supplies and know that my son has a pencil box from last year that I put in a good spot to use for this year…too bad I can’t remember where that great spot is. I found a few other things and saved myself a little money.
