This is my first week posting my meal plans and I am running a day behind.  Sorry about that.  I think I have it all figured (at least for now) and will be more timely next week.

Meal Plan-Week #1

This is our weekly meal plan.  As life happens, we have been known to revise and improvise, but stick to this as much as possible.  I hope you will find this helpful and use it whatever capacity works for your family.

menu plan-week #1

I try to use fresh products and cook from scratch.  I also try not to use a lot of processed foods, but it happens.  We use fresh and store-bought canned/frozen vegetables and fruits.  Occasionally I make homemade salad dressing, but primarily we use store-bought (but hey we are putting it on fresh produce).  I do make most marinades and sauces from scratch as I find recipes I love.

My recipes come from magazines, family/friends, cookbooks, Pinterest, and my own collection.  I hope to post some of my favorite recipes at some point, but until then please comment or contact me if you would like a recipe.  If I am using a recipe from Pinterest I will include a link.  Here are two links from recipes I used this week on the meal plan.

Leftover Mashed Potato Puffs~ I have to admit that I am not a lover of leftovers.  With a family of 5, there are usually very few leftovers, but I always try to make extra mashed potatoes for another meal.  These leftover mashed potato puffs were even better than the original mashed potatoes!

Grilled Honey and Ginger Marinated Flank Steak~This recipe comes from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe.  Her food blog was the first food blog I started following.  She cooks from scratch…she does not use canned cream soups.  If you stick around for a while, you will find out that I am not a fan of canned cream soups.  I know a lot of people use them (I have in the past) to make great and quick meals, but I am not a fan and use that sometimes as a basis for judging whether to purchase a cookbook or follow a blog.

I hope you find this helpful as you are preparing meals for this week. Enjoy!
