Our kids love to countdown the days until Santa comes. There have been years when I made advent calendars for the kids. There have been years when it was their craft project. There have been years when getting crafty was just not in the schedule and we enjoyed one that we purchased. I have not decided what this year will be, but I did a little online browsing and found some that I love.
Advent Calendars
My boys LOVE Legos and would be thrilled if I got this one for them: LEGO City Town Advent Calendar Building Kit. I love this one, because it gives the kids something to keep and it comes with six minifigures. Panels open each day for a Lego city surprise.
Santa’s Here Chocolate Advent Calendar is similar to the advent calendars we had growing up. I love the price on this one. It is very budget friendly.
I always thought I would get this Melissa & Doug Countdown to Christmas Wooden Advent Calendar, but on the years I considered purchasing it, we got crafty and made a homemade advent calendar. We have purchased several Melissa and Doug toys over the years and I have not found any that I did not love.
I love not only the price on the ALEX Toys Craft Crafty Advent Calendar, but also the versatility of it. You can fill it with little toys, candies, or activities. This one also allows you a little bit of craftiness.
The PLAYMOBIL Santa’s Workshop Advent Calendar is similar to the Lego Advent Calendar in that kids get a new Playmobil surprise each day. Our kids have not had any Playmobil toys, but I know they are well made, fun toys.
I can’t believe I have gone all these years and did not realize that Play-Doh has an advent calendar. Play-Doh has always been very popular at our house. I ‘m sure this Play-Doh Advent Calendar would be too. It comes with five cans of Play-Doh and 24 surprises for a very good price.
