Becoming a mother really deepens the understanding and respect we have for our own mothers, our grandmothers, and our friends who are mothers. As mothers we sacrifice so much for our children and families and don’t ask for much in return.

Mother’s Day is a great day to celebrate and lift up all the mothers in our lives. This year for Mother’s Day we are making Homemade Lavender Vanilla Sugar Scrub to pamper all the mother’s in our lives.

My earliest memories are of the my mother and grandmother picking me up from kindergarten (many years ago when it was 1/2 days), going out to lunch, and then shopping. I always had to have a purse and that purse often got lost. Even after a long afternoon of shopping with four kids ahead of them, mom and grandma always backtracked to find my purse, which was most often left hanging on my chair at the restaurant where we ate lunch.

I loved those special days with mom and grandma and love that I can celebrate them on Mother’s Day with a little pampering.

This sugar scrub is super easy and quick to make. It can be made quickly with items that you likely have on hand. It’s a great gift for the kids to help make.

We love making sugar scrubs to use at home. What a great idea to make them for gifts. There are quite a few ladies in our neighborhood that never had children of their own and I think they would appreciate being thought of and given a small gift.
