Our household loves OREO cookies and giving gifts! This holiday season, we have decided to combine the two by making OREO Cookie Balls.
The kids like to give their teachers personalized gifts. We decided OREO Cookie Balls would be a perfect gift this year. The kids had fun making these easy no bake treats and adding some fun festive sprinkles.
We added our OREO Cookie Balls to a cute container with a gift tag that says, “I am having a ball in your class! Have a Merry Christmas” (make sure to grab the free printable tag at the end).

OREO Cookie Balls are a super easy, no-bake dessert that you can prepare ahead of time (just stick them in the freezer until ready for use).
Not only are they a great gift, but they will also be a hit at all your holiday gatherings. OREO cookies, cream cheese, and chocolate: Yum!
One day while we were out running errands, the kids and I stopped by Walmart and picked up the needed ingredients.
Yes, I braved the store with three kids, but they were super helpful and excited to be purchasing the items to make their teacher gifts.
Ingredients:
- 1 pkg. (8oz) Kraft Philadelphia brick cream cheese, softened
- 36 OREO Cookies, finely crushed (about 3 cups)
- 4 pkgs. (4 oz each) semi sweet baking chocolate, melted
- Optional: festive holiday sprinkles
Directions:
- Mix cream cheese and 3 cups cookie crumbs until blended.
- Shape into 48 (1-inch) balls. Freeze 10 min. Dip balls in melted chocolate; place in single layer in shallow waxed paper-lined pan.
- Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.
Optional: In step #2 after we dipped the balls into melted chocolate, we immediately added festive holiday sprinkles.
There are many ways you can package up these OREO Cookie Balls and give them as gifts. You can use a mason jar like we did above, a tin like this one, a pretty box, or plastic bag. How would you package them?
Supplies for Teacher Gift (for both the mason jar and tin container):
- Container or bag-we used a mason jar and round tin container
- Printable gift tag: OREO Cookie Balls Gift Tag
- Green cardstock
- 3″ circle craft punch
- Hole punch
- Tape
- Ribbon, string, or twine
Directions for Teacher Gift:
- Print the tag (OREO Cookie Balls Gift Tag) and cut it out.
- Using 3″ circle punch, cut out a green circle slightly larger than the tag. (Don’t have a craft punch, just grab something that is slightly larger than the tag and trace it on a piece of green paper.)
- Glue the tag to the green circle.
- For the mason jar, use a hole punch to make a small hole near the top of the tag. Tie a piece of string, ribbon, or twine around the top of jar stringing through the tag.
- For the tin can use a glue dot or piece of tape to add the tag to the lid.
