This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tom’s of Maine for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

We have always recycled. We have also done compost bins in past years , but this year Earth Day really sparked a greater interest in the kids. The kids have become more conscientious of their actions and how they affect our planet.

Recycling, reusing, and reducing our carbon imprint on the environment is not just for Earth Day. It’s something we should actively be doing every day of the year. This worksheet is a great extension of Earth Day learning for young kids.

Challenge kids to identify where the items go. Are they recyclable? Can they go in the compost bin? Can the items be donated? Finally, if it does not fit any the other categories it is trash.

Kids get scissor practice by cutting out all the items on the first worksheet. Squeezing the glue bottle to glue the items in their correct box gives fine motor skills a work out as well.
