Cupcake liners aren’t just for baking . This cupcake liner sunflower craft is an easy, inexpensive craft for late summer early fall. This craft was inspired by the wild, smaller sunflowers that dot the roadsides where we live from late August through September.
I went through a cupcake liner obsession at one point in time and bought lots of pretty and holiday themed cupcake liners. I had huge aspirations and thought I was going to be baking up a storm and providing cupcakes for all the kids holiday and birthday parties. Turns out holiday and birthday time is often way too busy and stressful to bake and the grocery store often ends up making the cupcakes. We have one kid whose birthday falls just days before Christmas and another’s birthday falls around Thanksgiving and has even landed on Thanksgiving twice.

Cupcake Liner Sunflower Craft
Supplies
- Yellow Cupcake Liners
- Paper: Blue, Green, Brown
- Glue
- Scissors
- Circle Hole Punch
Directions
1. To get started on your cupcake liner sunflower craft, grab three cupcake liners. Using your scissors cut a few slits into the cupcake liner. These are your sunflower’s petals.
2. Turn your cupcake so that the outside (the darker side) is facing up. Cut a circle from brown paper and glue it to the center of the cupcake liner. Repeat this step for all three cupcake liners.
3. Glue your cupcake liner flowers to a piece of paper. We used blue, but white work as well.
4. Cut stems and leaves from green paper and glue these to the paper.
