We celebrate both the sacred and secular aspects of Easter. We have made Bubble Wrap Easter Eggs, Easter Bunny Pudding Snacks, and an Easy Paper Easter Wreath. Today we are making an Easter Cross Craft to celebrate the resurrection.
This is a great craft to do at home with your kids, during Sunday School, or at an Easter celebration. It takes just a little bit of prep, but makes a really pretty art project.

Supplies:
- White card stock
- Painters tape
- Watercolors
We choose to do a rainbow for our Easter Cross Craft, but encourage kids to get creative and express their own style.
Directions:
Age: This is a great art project for all ages. You could also use finger paints.
1. Using painters tape make a cross on a piece of white card stock.
2. Using watercolors paint at least the area around the cross. Try not the get the paper too wet, it will make removing the tape harder.
3. You want to pull the tape off when it is barely dry. Watercolors dry pretty quickly, so you should be able to remove shortly after the project is finished. If it starts to pull the paper, try pulling from a different angel.
Our preschooler loved making this Easter cross craft. It was a great way to talk about the resurrection, rainbows, and colors.
Pin for later.

I’ve tried this before and the paper always tears but, I prep ahead of time, leaving the tape on for awhile and then take it off after it is fully dry. Do you think this is my problem? Do I need to place tape just before painting and then remove as soon as possible after?? I’m so hoping I can get this right for Easter this year : ) . Thanks!!
Sorry Amy, it is tricky. On one of ours it did start to tear, so I worked with it and started pulling in another direction going very slowly. I would try leaving it on for as little time as possible. Also are you using a thick paper and painters tape? Switching from paper to an art canvas, like these https://amzn.to/2Fj7itp would help too.
