Meal Plan Week #11

I tried two new recipes this week and they both were fantastic! My goal is to try at least one new recipe a week, but there was not time in the last few weeks.  This last week we tried Oven Roasted Smoked Sausage & Potatoes and Mongolian Beef.  The Mongolian Beef is a 30 minute meal and good for busy nights.  We also got some fresh yummy strawberries from some friends this week and enjoyed them at several meals. Flying with Kids

Tips for flying with your kids

Today, I thought I would share with you some tips I have learned from traveling with our children. Our kids are currently 8, 5, and 3, but have all been traveling since infancy.  Our oldest flew seven times in his first two years of life (there were many celebrations and we were two days drive from most family). On top of all that, our oldest doesn't enjoy reading during the school year when it's ... continue reading...

Chapter Books for 2nd & 3rd Graders

Great list of chapter books for even the most reluctant 2nd & 3rd grade readers.

Is your child an unmotivated reader? Does your child read just what is required of them? Are you hoping to inspire your child to read more?  While my second grader does as he is asked and likes to be successful, he is not inclined to do anything more than required in terms of reading and even that can be a struggle at times unless we have the "right" book.   This post contains affiliate links. See my Disclosure Policy for details. Towards the beginning of the ... continue reading...

Meal Plan Week #10

This post contains affiliate links. See my Disclosure Policy for details. Our kids had their last day of school yesterday.  The last couple of weeks are always busy, but were more so this year.  Our school district changed the last day of school a few weeks ago, so the end of school year activities were lumped into a couple of weeks.  I ended up at the school more than planned this week, so our meal plan was adjusted.  Luckily I always keep couple of meals and browned ... continue reading...
