Our favorite things about summer are being outdoors and traveling to visit family. We love soaking up the great weather and spending quality time with family. Our favorite activities are hiking, baseball, swimming, and biking riding, which can all lead to irritated eyes, scrapes, bumps, and . It’s important that I’m prepared and have what we need on hand, so we can enjoy our outings. Early in the summer I pick together a DIY First Aid Kit of items that keep up us going and active.

As we begin our summer adventures and travel, I like to get the car stocked and ready with supplies we might need as we are traveling or participating in activities over the summer. One thing I always do is create a first aid kit. You never know when you might get a scraped knee, bug bite, irritated eye, or myriad of other things that require first aid.
Putting your DIY First Aid Kit together:
Start off with a container large enough to hold all of your items. We opted for a small plastic storage container. It fits perfectly into our car kit.
Print the first aid kit label on a 8 1/2″x 11 labels paper, cut down to size using scissors or a paper trimmer and add to the outside of your container.
Start off by filling your summer car kit with these basic items and then add items that fit your family’s needs.
- Bandages (various sizes)
- Gauze Pads
- Scissors
- First Aid Tape
- Alcohol Wipes
- Cold Pack
- Antibiotic Ointment
- Tweezers
- Ibuprofen/Acetaminophen
- Cotton Swabs
- Hydrocortisone (or other anti inch formula)
- Nail Clippers
- Disposable Gloves
- Eye drops
We are coaching tball again this year and the preschoolers love to play in the dirt. I kind of don’t blame them. There are about three positions that get a lot of action and the rest are pretty boring. We have a of couple kids, who get bored and start playing in the dirt. This usually leads to flying dirt and irritated eyes.
We made sure to include the new Clear Eyes® for Dry Eyes and Clear Eyes® Multi Symptom eyes drops we recently purchased at Walmart in our DIY first aid kit.
