This summer they added a new one to their list: Ice Cream Shop. They love it and play it nonstop.

I made these DIY ice cream cones for them using our recycled toilet paper rolls. We served vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream at our ice cream shop, but there a tons of possibilities.

Supplies for DIY Pretend Play Ice Cream Cones
- Toilet Paper Rolls
- Smooth Foam Balls 2″
- Spray Paint -We had chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream. The balls were already white, so I used brown paint for chocolate and pink paint for strawberry.
Don’t want to DIY try these products:
The kids love to use the ice cream scoop that I picked up at the Dollar Tree to scoop the ice cream (painted foam balls) onto the cone (toilet paper roll) or put the ice cream ball into plastic cups…great hand-eye coordination practice.
They love taking turns serving and being the customer. Serving seems to be the favorite and sometimes they do better than other times at taking turns.
We played Ice Cream Shop outside this summer, but this would be great indoors anytime especially in the winter when it is too cold to eat ice cream (unless you are like me and could eat it for every meal ๐ ).
This Ice Cream Shop post is for letter I of a Dramatic Play from A to Z series.
