We have done several Thanksgiving turkey projects (Recycled Cd Turkey, Toilet Paper Roll Turkey, Thankful Turkey, Pumpkin Turkey), so I decided we needed to try some other Thanksgiving crafts.  Today we are sharing a Pilgrim Hat Kid Craft using a Styrofoam cup.

This is an easy Thanksgiving project that takes minimal supplies and preparation and has just a couple steps for the directions.

Supplies:

  • Styrofoam cup
  • Black Piant
  • White card stock
  • Yellow construction paper or card stock

Directions:

  1. Paint Styrofoam cup black.  We did two coats of paint letting it dry between each coat.
  2. Once the paint is dry, cut thin strip of white paper and glue around the bottom of the hat.  Cut buckle for hat from yellow paper and glue to white strip.

These are cute! I can imagine having kids print their name on paper and gluing it to the hat to make a place setting at the table for Thanksgiving.
