Bottle Cap Flower

Earlier this week as I was recycling water bottles (we have to remove the caps/lids when recycling), I started to brainstorm projects we could do with caps.

This bottle cap flower is the second project from our recycled bottle caps.  The first was a bottle cap caterpillar.

Upcycle your recycled bottle cap/lids with this kid craft bottle cap flower.

Supplies for Bottle Cap Flower:

Cost: under $20 if you purchase everything on this list, but most things you will have on hand or can substitute items

    • Bottle caps (we used 4)
    • Wood Craft Stick
    • Foam Sheet, Green
    • Green paint & paintbrush
    • Mutli colored scrapbook or construction paper (we pulled pieces from our scraps box)
    • Circle Craft Punch, 1-Inch
    • Glue Gun or other strong glue
    • Glue stick
    • Scissors

Directions for Bottle Cap Flower:

Ages: preschool and older

1. Ahead of time use a glue gun and glue the 4 bottle caps together to form a diamond. My kids like to use this glue gun to help with projects.

2. Use a 1 inch circle craft punch and cut our five pieces of cardstock or use the bottle caps as template.

3. Paint craft stick with green paint.  We did 2 coats letting it dry between coats.

4. Use a glue stick and glue cardstock circles to top of the 4 bottle caps.  Glue one circle to the middle.

5. Using glue gun, glue the bottle caps to the craft stick.

6. Cut 2 leaf shapes out of green foam paper and glue to either side of craft stick.

Upcycle your recycled bottle cap/lids with this kids' craft flower.
